PROCESSED MEATS SHOWN TO CAUSE PANCREAS AND COLORECTAL CANCER
The World Cancer Research Fund recently completed a study of more than 7,000 cases that directly linked diet to cancer. The verdict? Processed meats containing the preservatives sodium nitrite & monosodium glutamate (MSG) increased the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67 percent and the risk of colorectal cancer by 21 percent. The main culprits were bacon, sausage, hot dogs, sandwich meat, packaged ham, pepperoni, salami and virtually all red meat. [via the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK)]
